"A learning community in the Catholic tradition where students are encouraged to reach their potential."

Multiage Classrooms

Multiage Classrooms

Except for Kindergarten, classrooms are combined with 2 grades. We identified each classroom into homerooms labeled A to H.

1/2 - A

1/2 - B

3/4 - C

3/4 - D

5/6 - E

5/6 - F

7/8 - G

7/8 - H

Students stay in a classroom for 2 years. At the end of the 2nd year, with student, parent, teacher, and principal will all have input into which homeroom they will be in next year. This gives an opportunity to change the classroom dynamics and an opportunity to make new friends and work with different students.

Staff use teaching strategies that focus on student's different learning style, heterogenious/homogenious groupings, centres, differentiated instruction and various other techniques to teach to the spectrum of ability in the classroom. Math can be taught in various ways and it up to the teacher or teachers. Programs such as Daily 5, Math Daily 3, T.A.I., Math stations, UDL and guided reading are some of the many programs that teachers use to engage students and assess students.
